Be the name the assistant gives.

Some of your customers have stopped scrolling search results. They ask ChatGPT, Gemini, or Siri who to call, and the assistant names two or three businesses. We make sure it can find you, read you, and trust what it reads, then check every month whether it names you.

  • Listed where assistants look
  • Structured data on every page
  • Monthly check against competitors
  • $499 per month, Found plan

In short

AI search visibility, sometimes called GEO, is the work of getting a business named when people ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Siri, or Perplexity for a recommendation. Almanac Office does it for Utah service businesses by keeping their listings consistent on the directories assistants cite, adding structured data and plain answer pages, letting AI crawlers in, and checking every month how often assistants name them next to competitors. It's part of the Found plan at $499/month.

What assistants actually cite

Directories first, websites second.

In September 2026 we asked four AI models with web search six local questions a Utah homeowner might ask, twice each. The 35 complete answers cited 869 sources. Yelp was cited 68 times, Birdeye review pages 42, the BBB 39, and Angi 35. The best-cited business website had 22.

It was a small test, run through APIs rather than the consumer apps, and answers change from run to run. But the direction was clear: assistants trust what many sources agree on. A great website helps. Being listed the same way on the sites they already read helps more. The full write-up is in how local businesses get recommended by ChatGPT.

The work

Make it easy to pick you.

01 · Listings

Everywhere they look.

Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, Yelp, BBB, Angi, Thumbtack, and Nextdoor, all with the same name, phone, website, and service area.

02 · Structured data

Facts a machine can't misread.

schema.org markup for your business, services, prices, hours, service area, and FAQs on every page, so no assistant has to guess.

03 · Answer pages

A page per real question.

"Water heater replacement in Holladay." "How much is a roof inspection?" Plain answers with price ranges and how to book. These are the pages assistants pull from.

04 · Crawler access

The door left open.

Many site builders and security plugins block AI crawlers by default. We check robots.txt and your host so OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, and Bingbot can read your site.

05 · llms.txt

A small, honest extra.

A plain-language summary of who you are, what you do, and how to book. Cheap and harmless. No major AI company has said it uses it for recommendations, so it's the last item, not the first.

06 · Bookable

Findable and bookable.

A quote and booking link an assistant can hand to a customer, or use itself, with a text to you whenever a human needs to step in.

The monthly check

Measured, not assumed.

You can't see AI rankings in a dashboard, so we measure them by asking.

  1. 01

    Pick the questions

    First month

Five to ten questions your best customers would ask, with your towns in them. "Who's a good electrician in Lehi for an EV charger?" You approve the list.

  2. 02

    Ask the assistants

    Every month

The same questions on the major assistants, several runs each, because a single answer proves little.

  3. 03

    Count the names

    Every month

How often you're named, who's named instead, and which sources the assistants cited. Those sources become the to-do list.

  4. 04

    Fix the gaps

    Ongoing

A missing listing, a page that doesn't answer the question, a directory with your old phone number. Fixed, then checked again next month.

FAQ

AI visibility questions.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend me?

No. Nobody controls what an AI assistant says, and answers change from one run to the next. We control what the assistants can find and read about you, and we measure how often you get named.

Is this different from SEO?

It's mostly the same work with different weights. Assistants lean harder on directories, review sites, and pages that answer a question directly. Good local SEO gets you most of the way there.

Does llms.txt matter?

A little at most. It's a plain summary file for AI tools, and it's cheap to add, but no major AI company has said it uses llms.txt to choose what to recommend. Listings and reviews matter far more. More in what llms.txt is and isn't.

Should I block AI bots from my site?

Not if you want to be recommended. Blocking crawlers like OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, or PerplexityBot keeps your pages out of those assistants' search results. A local service business has little to protect by blocking them.

How do you measure AI visibility?

Every month we ask the major assistants the questions your customers would ask, with your town in them, several times each. We count how often you're named and who gets named instead, and track it month over month.
